What now?

So, I am no longer married. I am a divorcee at 26. It stings, until my brother brings along the cookies form Anoosh, then boy is it all alright.

How we ended up was not expected, in my part anyway, I truly thought this was “it” despite our contradicting EVERYTHING. Alas, it isn’t. I do hope he prospers better without me, as I will without him insha’Allah.

Now, the fun part. I’ve been using the “divorced” card just about everywhere to get what I want. It’s fun, that includes free coffee and privileged information. I’m sure it’ll run its course soon enough.

My parents are spoiling me rotten, I love them for that. Oh, yes and I did get my masters and submitted a paper for publishing (ya rb it gets accepted). So, don’t dare feel sorry unless you’re yearning for a verbal wedgie.

I’ve postponed my iPhD until September next year (Plan B), but I am currently applying for a PhD starting early 2012, I already hold an acceptance for the best up North for an iPhD but hoping for a PhD instead (am I making sense?)

The only thing that’s upsetting me right now is being so far away from my cats. They are currently at a boarding cattery in the UK due to stupid regulations that’ll force me to place them in quarantine for 6 months when I get back to the UK. I call the cattery every 3 days to check up on them, Jackie, the owner, is tremendously nice and I love her for taking care of them due to my circumstance.

I will be blogging more frequently *crickets chirping*

    • I am honestly doing better than I thought I would. The first week was absolutely dreadful, but I am a-okay now and planning my future sans husband.
How is that you’ve been back since July, but I just find out about it! Glad to see you’re blogging again πŸ˜€

      • I was busy, I just got kicked upstairs ahahah! Glad to know you’re doing ok, life’s like that. I didn’t get to end up with my now ex, we broke up a long time ago over some issues we couldn’t get over, we did try to patch things but we didn’t make it.

  1. I don’t know what is it that made me want to check your blog again. After all this time perhaps it was the hope of finding a new post from you, or at least hearing good news about you. This, indeed, is not the kind of post I was looking forward to read.

I’m sorry for your divorce. It must’ve been tough, I can tell. No worries, though. I won’t make it worse and bombard you with all these “comforting clichΓ©s” that people almost automatically say in such situations. (As I know, nothing’s comforting about them and I’m sure you’ve had your share of them already). What I can tell you though is hang in there. One day you’ll make it out perfectly insha’Allah.

I am beyond glad that you’re back blogging. Writing can be magically therapeutic, you know. I’ve missed you and your posts – links posts and tidbits mostly. So, roll up your sleeves, girl, and make it up for this loyal, long waiting audience of yours.

    Blog away, dear. πŸ™‚

    • It’s lovely to see you here! Mind if I add you on facebook? Cause you’ve disappeared from everywhere! You must still be working on your masters or are congratulations are in order?

The divorce wasn’t easy but it’s only 2 years out of a very blessed life al7amdillah, so who am I to begrudge fate? I gave myself a week of being sad, then got back on track. My parents aren’t getting younger, and I’d rather have them see me happy than sad, which I’ve come to realize is even better then fulfilling your own happiness. Nevertheless, I agree with you about the clichΓ©s, and don’t even get me started on the pity. They’ve even attributed my weight loss to being sad! Heck no, I just got myself a Wii fit, hehe.

I will get back to blogging insha’Allah πŸ˜€ I am excited myself and already bookmarking websites I want to share with you.

Once again, it is more than lovely to hear from you!

      • I don’t know if you received my e-mail, but I’ve already sent you a link to my Facebook profile. I don’t even know if you’re still using your old e-mail address. Let me know if you have a new one and I’ll happily resend the link. πŸ™‚

  2. Do keep in mind to get that PhD. Not an iPhD and do get those cats back soon! 6 months they are gonna stay away from you? Argh that would torn my heart if mine was away for so long…

You will prosper and grow. It is never the end until that other End so until then, prosper!

    • Yep, that’s what I’m aiming for now. I have a couple of interview stacked up for the next two weeks, wish me luck!
It has been two months since I’ve last seen my cats and it truly has been hard. I talk about them constantly to my parents I’m beginning to sound like an absolute nutter! But, I’ll be seeing them in mid December hopefully; I truly can not wait!

Thanks for dropping by Patrick πŸ™‚

  3. Hello there
Sorry about the divorce. I guess everyone should realize that person should be just as important to them as before marriage, but enjoy your freedom nothing like being on your own. Good luck on your PhD, and allah ya5lee lak ahlak wa your cats :p and its good to see you back here.

    • Hehe, thank you Ahmed πŸ˜€ Yeah, I’m enjoying my freedom for now al7amdillah, and will hopefully get starting on my PhD soon insha’Allah.
My cats also thank you for you kind words, haha!

Thanks for coming here and leaving a comment πŸ™‚

  4. So wasn’t expecting this post but enshallah khayr. Hang in there. My two sisters are divorced too and for them it took a little time to get back together. It’s difficult but… hang in there. I miss you. Take care of yourself.

And yes… I’m still hopping blogs. One day I’ll actually settle on one and stop confusing my readers so much.

    • It’s lovely seeing you here Hamna! And thank you for you sweet comment; I agree with you on its difficulty but I assure we will all be free. Break ups are there for a reason, and insha’Allah Allah holds the best for us.

And yes… I’m still hopping blogs. One day I’ll actually settle on one and stop confusing my readers so much.
Wonderful! Do kindly update when you settle down on one, hehe.

Thanks again for dropping by again, it means plenty!
